About Jamco America
The history of Jamco America begins in 1955 with the establishment of the C. Itoh Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Co. By 1963, the company had gained approval as a repair and modification organization for aircraft accessories, and earned a type certification for their Itochu N-62 Eaglet light aircraft in 1965. Over the course of the coming years, the company continued to gain certifications. Following a division of ownership in 1970, the company was renamed the New Japan Aircraft Maintenance Co (JAMCO). During the 1970s, the company began working with Boeing for their 700 series and also became an authorized manufacturer for the Japanese Defense Agency’s repair plant for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
In 1982, the company established Jamco America in Seattle, Washington. The name was changed to Jamco Corporation in 1982 as they were listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Leading up to the 21st century, the company saw continued success and continued to grow domestically and overseas. In 2002, the company was approved by the FAA as an Organizational Airworthiness Representative. Since then, Jamco and its subsidiaries have seen consistent expansion and growth.
